Valticlo 450mg Tablet is used to treat the following:

• Treatment of CMV retinitis in patients with acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) in adults
• Prevention of CMV disease in adults and children receiving kidney,heart transplant

After oral administration, Valticlo 450mg Tablet is rapidly converted to ganciclovir by intestinal and hepatic esterases. Ganciclovir is the active form responsible for inhibiting viral replication. Ganciclovir inhibits the synthesis of viral DNA, stopping the cytomegalovirus from replicating. This inhibitory action helps stop the virus from spreading throughout the body by lowering the viral load in infected cells. Ganciclovir is selectively harmful to cytomegalovirus-infected cells due to preferential phosphorylation by viral kinases. This targeted approach primarily targets infected cells while reducing harm to healthy cells.

Inform the doctor about your medicines, including prescription, over-the-counter, nutritional or vitamin supplements, and herbal products. Certain medications may interact with Valticlo 450mg Tablet, reducing effectiveness by causing undesirable side effects.

• Store at room temperature, between 15°C to 30°C.
• Keep away from moisture, heat, and light.
• It should not be frozen.
• Keep away from children and pets.

Take the Valticlo 450mg Tablet as advised by your physician. Swallow the tablets whole and intact. This tablet should be taken with food. Do not crush, chew, or open the medicine. Your physician will decide the correct dosage and duration based on age, body weight, and disease condition. Only stop taking the medicine if your doctor advises you to stop. Valticlo 450mg Tablet causes some side effects like all medications, although not everyone will experience them.

Serious:

Anaphylactic shock (sudden swelling of the throat, face, lips, hand, ankles, difficulty swallowing, itchy skin rash)

• Low blood counts
• Blood infection
• Urinary tract infection
• Upper respiratory tract infections

Common:

• Diarrhea
• Pyrexia
• Nausea
• Tremor
• Headache
• Insomnia
• Vomiting

It is important to use Valticlo 450mg Tablet with caution and adhere to the following precautions to ensure its safe and effective use. First, always use under the supervision and guidance of a healthcare professional who can monitor your progress and make necessary adjustments to your treatment plan. Inform your healthcare professional about any existing medical conditions, including liver impairment, kidney impairments, lung conditions, or pregnancy or breastfeeding, as it may have specific considerations in these cases. 

Adhere to the prescribed dosage and administration instructions, and do not adjust the dose without consulting your healthcare professional. Even if you feel better before finishing the prescribed amount of Valticlo 450mg Tablet, make sure to finish the complete course of treatment. Early treatment termination may result in insufficient viral clearance and possible recurrence. It is advised to stay hydrated and maintain kidney function by drinking lots of fluids. It's critical to drink enough water to wash out the drug and lower the possibility of kidney-related adverse effects. When taking Valticlo 450mg Tablet, watch out for any possible adverse effects, such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, dizziness, or visual abnormalities. As soon as you notice any strange symptoms, let your healthcare professional know.To lower your chance of catching other infections, stay away from those who are currently infected.
