Introduction
Apigy 2.5mg Tablet, also known as tab Apigy 2.5 or Apigy Tablet, is a direct oral anticoagulant (DOAC) belonging to the Factor Xa Inhibitor class of medicines. The Apigy 2.5mg Tablet composition contains Apixaban as its active ingredient, which works by blocking Factor Xa to prevent the formation of dangerous blood clots.
The primary Apigy 2.5mg Tablet benefits include prevention of deep vein thrombosis in patients who have undergone hip or knee replacement surgery, reducing the risk of pulmonary embolism, and lowering the risk of stroke and systemic embolism in patients with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation. The correct Apigy 2.5mg Tablet dosage is determined by a doctor based on the patient's condition, medical history, and treatment goals.
Some formulations of the apigy 2.5 mg tablet may contain lactose as an inactive ingredient. Patients with lactose intolerance may experience bloating or abdominal pain and should inform their doctor before starting therapy. This medicine is contraindicated in patients with hepatic disease associated with coagulopathy or clinically relevant bleeding risk, and is not recommended in severe hepatic impairment.
It is essential to inform your doctor about any history of bleeding disorders, liver or kidney disease, or other medications being taken, including over-the-counter drugs, supplements, or herbal remedies. This Apigy 2.5mg medicine can interact with other anticoagulants and increases the risk of spinal or epidural haematoma, particularly in patients undergoing spinal procedures or receiving spinal anaesthesia. Clinicians should monitor patients for signs of neurological impairment such as numbness, weakness, or loss of bladder or bowel control, and urgent treatment should be initiated if these symptoms occur.
This medicine is not recommended during pregnancy as it may cause foetal harm. A pregnancy test is conducted before starting treatment, and effective birth control should be used for at least two weeks following the last dose. The Apigy 2.5mg Tablet price may vary depending on the pharmacy and location.
