Introduction
Noveltreat 1mg Injection contains Semaglutide, a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist. It is supplied as a pre-filled pen containing Semaglutide 1 mg/0.5 mL and is intended for subcutaneous use once weekly. It is marketed by Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.
Noveltreat 1mg Injection is indicated for chronic weight management in adults with obesity or overweight with certain weight-related health conditions. It is used along with a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity as part of a long-term weight management plan.
Uses of Noveltreat 1mg Injection
Noveltreat 1mg Injection may be prescribed for:
Chronic weight management: It is used along with a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity to support weight loss and long-term weight management in adults with obesity.
Overweight with weight-related health conditions: It may be prescribed for adults who are overweight and have certain weight-related health conditions, as determined by the doctor.
The dose is increased gradually according to the treatment plan prescribed by the doctor. Do not change the dose without medical advice.
How Noveltreat 1mg Injection works
Semaglutide works in a similar way to the natural hormone GLP-1. It acts on areas of the brain involved in appetite regulation, helping reduce hunger and food cravings and increasing feelings of fullness. This can reduce calorie intake and support weight loss when combined with a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity.
Semaglutide also slows stomach emptying, which can contribute to a longer-lasting feeling of fullness after meals.
Interactions of Noveltreat 1mg Injection with other medicines
Tell your doctor about all medicines, supplements, and herbal products you are taking before starting Noveltreat 1mg Injection.
Insulin and certain diabetes medicines: Using Semaglutide with insulin or medicines such as sulfonylureas can increase the risk of low blood sugar. Your doctor may adjust the dose of these medicines.
Medicines taken by mouth: Semaglutide can delay stomach emptying and may affect the absorption of some oral medicines.
Other Semaglutide-containing medicines: Do not use Noveltreat with another Semaglutide-containing medicine unless your doctor specifically advises you to do so.
Other GLP-1 receptor agonists: Do not combine Noveltreat with another GLP-1 receptor agonist unless prescribed by your doctor.

Safety Advice
Pregnancy
Noveltreat should not be used during pregnancy unless specifically advised by a doctor. If you become pregnant while using Semaglutide, contact your doctor promptly. Women planning a pregnancy should discuss treatment with their doctor beforehand. Semaglutide should generally be stopped at least 2 months before a planned pregnancy.
Breast Feeding
Tell your doctor if you are breastfeeding before using Noveltreat 1mg Injection. Your doctor will decide whether treatment is appropriate based on your individual circumstances.
Lungs
Semaglutide does not have specific routine lung-related precautions. Tell your doctor about any significant respiratory condition and inform your healthcare team that you are using Semaglutide before surgery or a procedure requiring anaesthesia or deep sedation.
Liver
Tell your doctor if you have liver disease before starting Noveltreat 1mg Injection. Your doctor will decide whether any additional monitoring is needed.
Alcohol
Discuss alcohol consumption with your doctor while using Noveltreat. Alcohol may worsen gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea and vomiting and may affect appetite and blood sugar levels.
Driving
Noveltreat does not usually affect the ability to drive. However, dizziness or low blood sugar may occur, particularly when Semaglutide is used with insulin or certain diabetes medicines. Do not drive if you experience symptoms that affect your concentration or alertness.
