Introduction
Semawin 1mg Pen Injection contains Semaglutide, a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist. It is supplied as a 4 mg/3 mL pre-filled pen, with each dose delivering 1 mg of Semaglutide. It is administered once weekly as directed by the physician.
Semaglutide is used as part of treatment for weight management in eligible adults with obesity or overweight with a weight-related health condition, together with a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity. The 1 mg dose is reached after gradual dose escalation when prescribed.
Uses of Semawin 1mg Pen Injection
Semawin 1mg Pen Injection is used to:
Manage obesity in eligible adults as part of a weight-management plan.
Manage overweight with a weight-related health condition.
Support weight loss and long-term weight maintenance.
Reduce hunger and food intake by increasing feelings of fullness.
The 1 mg dose is used after gradual dose escalation and should be taken only according to the schedule prescribed by your doctor.
How Semaglutide 1 mg Pen Injection Works
Semaglutide activates GLP-1 receptors and helps regulate appetite and food intake. It also supports glucose regulation by increasing insulin release when blood glucose is high and reducing glucagon release.
Semaglutide delays gastric emptying and increases feelings of fullness. Together, these effects can reduce hunger and calorie intake and support weight management.
Interaction of Semawin 1mg Pen Injection with Other Medicines
Insulin or sulfonylureas: Can increase the risk of low blood sugar.
Other Semaglutide-containing medicines: Should not be combined unless prescribed.
Other GLP-1 receptor agonists: Do not combine without medical advice.
Oral medicines: Delayed gastric emptying may affect the absorption of some oral medicines.

FAQs
Q1.
Why has my Semaglutide dose been increased to 1mg?
Semaglutide is increased gradually during treatment so your body has time to adjust. The 1 mg strength is one of the doses used during this step-by-step increase.
Q2.
Can I move to 1mg if I still have side effects on 0.5mg?
Speak to your doctor first. If you are having significant side effects, your doctor may decide to delay the next dose increase rather than moving straight to a higher strength.
Q3.
Is 1mg enough for weight loss?
Semaglutide can support weight loss at different stages of treatment. The 1 mg dose is part of the escalation schedule, and your doctor will decide the dose that is appropriate for you.
Q4.
Can I take Semawin 1mg with food?
Yes. Semawin is injected under the skin and can be used with or without food.
Q5.
Does Semawin 1mg reduce appetite?
Yes. Semaglutide acts on GLP-1 receptors involved in appetite and can reduce hunger while increasing feelings of fullness.
Q6.
Can I use Semawin 1mg with another weight-loss injection?
Do not add another weight-loss injection without speaking to your doctor. Semawin should not normally be combined with another GLP-1 receptor agonist or Semaglutide-containing medicine.
Q7.
Can Semawin 1mg cause low blood sugar?
The risk is low when Semaglutide is used alone. It becomes more important when Semaglutide is used with insulin or sulfonylureas.
Q8.
Where should I inject Semawin 1mg?
The injection can be given under the skin of the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm. Rotate injection sites and use the technique shown by your healthcare professional.
Q9.
What should I do if I miss my 1mg dose?
Follow the missed-dose instructions provided with your prescription or product information. Do not take two injections together.
Q10.
Can I use Semawin 1mg during pregnancy?
No. Semaglutide should not be used during pregnancy. If you are planning a pregnancy, speak to your doctor and stop Semaglutide at least 2 months beforehand.
Q11.
Do I need a prescription for Semawin 1mg?
Yes. Semawin 1mg is a prescription medicine and should be used under medical supervision.
