Semafull 2mg Pen Injection may be used:

• Type 2 diabetes mellitus: To improve blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes, along with diet, exercise and other treatment when prescribed.

• Chronic weight management: As part of a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity in eligible adults with obesity or overweight with a weight-related health condition.

Semafull is not used to treat type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis.

Semafull contains Semaglutide, which acts similarly to GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1), a natural hormone involved in blood sugar and appetite regulation.

Semaglutide increases insulin release when blood sugar is high and reduces the release of glucagon, a hormone that raises blood sugar. It also slows stomach emptying and can increase feelings of fullness. Together, these effects help improve blood sugar control and can reduce food intake when Semaglutide is prescribed for weight management.

Tell your doctor about all prescription medicines, over-the-counter medicines, vitamins and herbal supplements you take.

• Insulin or sulfonylureas: Using Semafull with these medicines can increase the risk of low blood sugar. Your doctor may adjust their doses.

• Other Semaglutide-containing medicines: Do not use Semafull with another medicine containing Semaglutide unless specifically advised by your doctor.

• Other GLP-1 receptor agonists: Combining Semafull with another GLP-1 receptor agonist is generally not recommended.

• Oral medicines: Semaglutide slows stomach emptying and may affect how quickly some medicines taken by mouth are absorbed. Tell your doctor if you take medicines that require close monitoring.

• Store Semafull 2mg Pen Injection in a refrigerator at 2°C to 8°C before use.

• Do not freeze the pen or place it close to the freezer compartment.

• Do not use Semafull if it has been frozen.

• Keep the pen protected from light.

• Keep it out of the sight and reach of children.

• Follow the storage instructions provided with the product for the pen after first use.

Use Semafull 2mg Pen Injection exactly as prescribed by your doctor.

The Semafull 2mg/1.5 mL presentation is used to deliver 0.25 mg or 0.5 mg doses during the initial stages of Semaglutide treatment. It is injected under the skin once a week, usually on the same day each week. It can be given at any time of day, with or without food.

The injection can be given into the abdomen, thigh or upper arm. Your doctor or nurse should show you the correct injection technique before you use the pen yourself.

Treatment with Semaglutide is generally started at a lower dose and increased gradually according to your response and tolerance. Do not change the dose yourself.

Use a new needle for each injection and do not share the pen or needles with another person. Check the solution before use. It should be clear and colourless and should not contain visible particles.

Common side effects of Semafull may include:

• Nausea

• Vomiting

• Diarrhoea

• Constipation

• Abdominal pain

• Headache

• Dizziness

• Indigestion

• Decreased appetite

Nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea are particularly common when treatment is started or the dose is increased. These effects may become less troublesome as your body adjusts to the medicine.

Serious side effects:

• Pancreatitis: Severe and persistent abdominal pain that may spread to the back, sometimes with vomiting.

• Severe allergic reaction: Swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat, or difficulty breathing.

• Severe dehydration: Persistent vomiting or diarrhoea can cause dehydration and may affect kidney function.

• Gallbladder problems: Gallstones or inflammation of the gallbladder may cause severe abdominal pain, fever or yellowing of the skin or eyes.

• Vision changes: Sudden or worsening changes in vision require medical assessment, particularly in people with diabetes-related eye disease.

• Low blood sugar: This is more likely when Semafull is used with insulin or sulfonylureas.

Seek prompt medical attention if you develop symptoms of a serious side effect.

• Use Semafull exactly as prescribed by your doctor.

• Remember that the 2 mg in the product name refers to the total amount of Semaglutide in the pen, not a 2 mg injection dose.

• Do not increase or decrease the dose without medical advice.

• Use the injection once a week, preferably on the same day each week.

• Follow the diet and physical activity plan recommended by your healthcare professional.

• Drink enough fluids, particularly if you have vomiting or diarrhoea.

• Use a new needle for every injection and never share your pen or needles.

• Tell your doctor before surgery or a procedure involving general anaesthesia or deep sedation.

• Tell your doctor if you have diabetic retinopathy or develop new or worsening vision changes.

• Do not use Semafull if you or a family member has a history of medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) or if you have multiple endocrine neoplasia type 2 (MEN 2) unless your specialist specifically advises otherwise.

• Seek medical attention if you develop severe or persistent abdominal pain.
