Sematrinity 2mg Injection is used to:

• Improve blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus: It is used along with diet and exercise.

• Support long-term diabetes management: The dose may be adjusted according to blood sugar control and tolerance.

Sematrinity is not used to treat type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis.

Sematrinity 2mg Injection contains Semaglutide, which mimics GLP-1, a natural hormone involved in blood sugar regulation.

It increases insulin release when blood glucose is high and reduces glucagon release. It also slows stomach emptying and may increase feelings of fullness.

Tell your doctor about all prescription medicines, over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, supplements and herbal products you take.

• Insulin or sulfonylureas: These may increase the risk of low blood sugar when used with Sematrinity.

• Oral medicines: Delayed stomach emptying may affect the absorption of some oral medicines.

• Warfarin or other coumarin medicines: Closer monitoring may be required.

• Other GLP-1 receptor agonists: Do not use Sematrinity with another Semaglutide-containing medicine or GLP-1 receptor agonist unless prescribed.

• Store Sematrinity 2mg Injection at 2°C to 8°C.

• Do not freeze it.

• Do not use it if it has been frozen.

• Protect the pen from light.

• Keep it out of the sight and reach of children.

• Follow the pack instructions for storage after first use.

Use Sematrinity 2mg Injection exactly as prescribed by your doctor.

The 2 mg/1.5 mL pen is designed to provide 0.25 mg and 0.5 mg doses. It is administered under the skin once a week.

The 0.25 mg dose is generally used when starting Semaglutide treatment. The dose may be increased to 0.5 mg when appropriate, based on your doctor's advice.

Inject it into the abdomen, thigh or upper arm. Do not inject it into a vein or muscle.

Common side effects of Sematrinity 2mg Injection may include:

• Nausea

• Vomiting

• Diarrhoea

• Constipation

• Abdominal pain

• Decreased appetite

• Indigestion

• Headache

• Dizziness

• Fatigue

Serious side effects:

• Severe or persistent abdominal pain, which may indicate pancreatitis.

• Persistent vomiting or diarrhoea causing dehydration or kidney problems.

• Gallstones or gallbladder inflammation.

• Severe allergic reactions.

• Severe low blood sugar when used with insulin or sulfonylureas.

• Sudden or worsening vision changes.

• Severe gastrointestinal reactions.

• Use Sematrinity exactly as prescribed.

• Do not increase the dose without medical advice.

• Follow your recommended diet and physical activity plan.

• Maintain adequate fluid intake.

• Rotate injection sites.

• Tell your doctor about diabetic retinopathy or changes in vision.

• Tell your doctor if you have severe problems with delayed stomach emptying.

• Inform your doctor before surgery or deep sedation.

• Tell your doctor if you have a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or MEN 2.

• Do not share the pen.
