Sundae 8mg Injection Vial is used to:

• Manage type 2 diabetes mellitus: It helps improve blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes when prescribed as part of an appropriate treatment plan.

• Support chronic weight management: Semaglutide may be prescribed for eligible adults with obesity or overweight with a weight-related health condition, along with a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity.

Sundae is not used to treat type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis.

Sundae 8mg Injection Vial contains Semaglutide, which acts in a similar way to the natural hormone GLP-1. It activates GLP-1 receptors involved in blood sugar regulation and appetite.

Semaglutide increases insulin release when blood sugar levels are high and reduces glucagon release, which helps lower blood glucose. It also delays stomach emptying and can increase feelings of fullness, which may reduce food intake and support weight management.

Tell your doctor about all prescription medicines, over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, supplements and herbal products you take.

• Insulin or sulfonylureas: Using Semaglutide with insulin or sulfonylureas can increase the risk of low blood sugar. Your doctor may need to adjust the dose of these medicines.

• Oral medicines: Semaglutide delays stomach emptying and may affect the rate at which some medicines taken by mouth are absorbed. Tell your doctor if you take medicines that require close monitoring.

• Other GLP-1 receptor agonists: Do not use Sundae with another semaglutide-containing medicine or another GLP-1 receptor agonist unless specifically prescribed by your doctor.

• Warfarin or other coumarin medicines: Your doctor may recommend closer monitoring of blood clotting when semaglutide is started in people taking warfarin or similar medicines.

• Store Sundae 8mg Injection Vial in a refrigerator at 2°C to 8°C.

• Do not freeze Sundae.

• Do not use the medicine if it has been frozen.

• Keep the vial in its original packaging to protect it from light.

• Keep Sundae out of the sight and reach of children.

• Follow the product packaging or pharmacist's instructions regarding storage after the vial has been opened.

Use Sundae 8mg Injection Vial exactly as prescribed by your doctor.

Semaglutide is generally administered once a week, on the same day each week, at any time of the day, with or without food. It is injected under the skin of the abdomen, thigh or upper arm.

The dose is usually started low and increased gradually according to your doctor's instructions. The 8mg amount in the vial is the total quantity of semaglutide in the vial and is not automatically the weekly dose.

As Sundae 8mg Injection Vial is supplied in a vial, use it only after your doctor, nurse or pharmacist has shown you how to withdraw and administer the prescribed dose safely. Do not inject it into a vein or muscle. Rotate injection sites regularly.

Do not change the dose or stop treatment without medical advice.

Common side effects of Sundae 8mg Injection Vial may include:

• Nausea

• Vomiting

• Diarrhoea

• Constipation

• Abdominal pain

• Headache

• Dizziness

• Indigestion

• Abdominal discomfort

Serious side effects:

• Severe and persistent abdominal pain, which may spread to the back and may be accompanied by vomiting. This may indicate pancreatitis.

• Severe allergic reactions, including swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat or difficulty breathing.

• Persistent vomiting or diarrhoea, which can cause dehydration and may affect kidney function.

• Gallbladder problems, which may cause severe abdominal pain, fever or yellowing of the skin or eyes.

• Sudden loss or worsening of vision, particularly in people with diabetic eye disease.

• Low blood sugar, particularly when Sundae is used with insulin or sulfonylureas.

Seek medical attention promptly if you develop severe or persistent symptoms.

• Use Sundae exactly as prescribed by your doctor.

• Do not treat the 8mg vial strength as an 8mg weekly dose unless your doctor specifically prescribes that dose.

• Do not change the dose or increase it faster than advised.

• Follow the recommended diet and physical activity plan during treatment.

• Drink enough fluids, especially if you experience vomiting or diarrhoea.

• Use the vial only as instructed and follow the injection technique taught by your healthcare professional.

• Rotate injection sites regularly.

• Tell your doctor before surgery or a procedure involving general anaesthesia or deep sedation.

• Tell your doctor if you have diabetic retinopathy or develop changes in your vision.
