Introduction
Sundae 4mg Injection Vial contains Semaglutide, a GLP-1 receptor agonist used in adults with type 2 diabetes and for chronic weight management in eligible adults. It is used along with appropriate diet and physical activity. The 4mg strength represents the total amount of semaglutide in the vial, not automatically the amount to be injected as one weekly dose.
Uses of Sundae 4mg Injection Vial
Sundae 4mg Injection Vial is used to:
Manage type 2 diabetes mellitus: It helps improve blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes.
Support chronic weight management: Semaglutide may be prescribed for eligible adults with obesity or overweight with a weight-related health condition, together with a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity.
Sundae is not used to treat type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis.
How Sundae 4mg Injection Vial Works
Sundae 4mg Injection Vial contains Semaglutide, which mimics the action of GLP-1, a natural hormone involved in blood sugar and appetite regulation.
It increases insulin release when blood sugar is high and reduces glucagon release. It also delays stomach emptying and increases feelings of fullness, which can help reduce food intake and support weight management.
Interaction of Sundae 4mg Injection Vial with Other Medicines
Tell your doctor about all prescription medicines, over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, supplements and herbal products you take.
Insulin or sulfonylureas: May increase the risk of low blood sugar when used with Semaglutide.
Oral medicines: Delayed stomach emptying may affect the rate at which some oral medicines are absorbed.
Other GLP-1 receptor agonists: Do not combine Sundae with another GLP-1 receptor agonist or semaglutide-containing medicine unless specifically prescribed.
Warfarin or similar anticoagulants: Your doctor may recommend closer INR monitoring when starting Semaglutide.
Storage Conditions
Store Sundae 4mg Injection Vial at 2°C to 8°C in a refrigerator.
Do not freeze.
Do not use if the medicine has been frozen.
Keep the vial in its original packaging to protect it from light.
Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
Follow the product packaging or pharmacist's instructions regarding storage after opening.
How to Use
Use Sundae 4mg Injection Vial exactly as prescribed by your doctor.
Semaglutide is generally given once a week, on the same day each week, at any time of the day, with or without food. It is injected under the skin of the abdomen, thigh or upper arm.
Treatment is usually started at a lower dose and increased gradually according to your doctor's instructions.
The 4mg strength refers to the total semaglutide content of the vial and does not mean that 4mg should be injected as a single weekly dose.
As this is a vial formulation, do not attempt to withdraw or inject the medicine unless you have been properly trained by a healthcare professional. Do not inject into a vein or muscle.
Safety Advice
Pregnancy
Sundae should not be used during pregnancy. Tell your doctor if you become pregnant or plan to become pregnant. Semaglutide should generally be stopped at least 2 months before a planned pregnancy.
Breast Feeding
Semaglutide should not be used while breastfeeding unless specifically advised by your doctor.
Lungs
Tell your doctor if you are scheduled for surgery or a procedure requiring general anaesthesia or deep sedation. Semaglutide delays stomach emptying, which may increase the risk of aspiration during these procedures.
Liver
Tell your doctor if you have liver disease before starting Sundae. Your doctor will determine whether it is suitable for you.
Alcohol
Discuss alcohol consumption with your doctor. Alcohol may worsen nausea and vomiting and can affect blood sugar control, particularly with other diabetes medicines.
Driving
Sundae does not usually affect driving. However, low blood sugar can occur when Semaglutide is combined with insulin or sulfonylureas. Do not drive if you develop symptoms of hypoglycaemia or feel dizzy.
Side Effects
Common side effects of Sundae 4mg Injection Vial may include:
