Introduction
Noveltreat 0.25mg Injection contains Semaglutide, a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist. It is supplied as a pre-filled pen containing Semaglutide 0.25 mg/0.5 mL and is intended for subcutaneous use once weekly. It is marketed by Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.
Noveltreat 0.25mg Injection is used as part of a long-term weight management plan in adults with obesity or overweight with certain weight-related health conditions. It is used along with a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity.
Uses of Noveltreat 0.25mg Injection
Noveltreat 0.25mg Injection may be prescribed for:
Chronic weight management: It is used along with a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity to support weight loss and long-term weight management.
Overweight with weight-related health conditions: It may be prescribed for adults who are overweight or have obesity with certain weight-related health conditions, as determined by the doctor.
The 0.25mg strength is used as part of the dose-escalation schedule prescribed by the doctor. Do not increase the dose without medical advice.
How Noveltreat 0.25mg Injection works
Semaglutide works in a similar way to the natural hormone GLP-1. It acts on areas of the brain involved in appetite regulation, helping reduce hunger and food cravings while increasing feelings of fullness. This can reduce calorie intake and support weight management when combined with a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity.
Semaglutide also slows stomach emptying, which can contribute to a longer-lasting feeling of fullness after meals.
Interactions of Noveltreat 0.25mg Injection with other medicines
Tell your doctor about all medicines, supplements, and herbal products you are taking before starting Noveltreat 0.25mg Injection.
Insulin and certain diabetes medicines: Using Semaglutide with insulin or medicines such as sulfonylureas can increase the risk of low blood sugar.
Medicines taken by mouth: Semaglutide can delay stomach emptying and may affect the absorption of some oral medicines.
Other Semaglutide-containing medicines: Do not use Noveltreat with another Semaglutide-containing medicine unless your doctor specifically advises you to do so.
Other GLP-1 receptor agonists: Do not combine Noveltreat with another GLP-1 receptor agonist unless prescribed by your doctor.
Other weight-loss medicines: Tell your doctor if you are taking any other medicines intended for weight management.

Safety Advice
Pregnancy
Noveltreat should not be used during pregnancy unless specifically advised by a doctor. If you become pregnant while using Semaglutide, contact your doctor promptly. Women planning a pregnancy should discuss treatment with their doctor beforehand. Semaglutide should generally be stopped at least 2 months before a planned pregnancy.
