Introduction
Obesema 0.25mg Injection contains Semaglutide, a GLP-1 receptor agonist. It is a prescription injection used for type 2 diabetes mellitus and chronic weight management in eligible adults.
The 0.25 mg strength is generally used as the starting dose of Semaglutide treatment before gradual dose escalation.
Uses
Obesema 0.25mg Injection is used:
To improve blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus, along with diet and exercise.
For chronic weight management in eligible adults with obesity or overweight with a weight-related health condition.
How Obesema 0.25mg Injection Works
Semaglutide activates GLP-1 receptors involved in blood glucose and appetite regulation. It increases insulin release when blood sugar is elevated and reduces glucagon release.
It also slows stomach emptying and increases fullness, which can help reduce food intake.
Interaction of Obesema 0.25mg Injection with Other Medicines
Tell your doctor about all prescription medicines, over-the-counter medicines, vitamins and supplements you take.
Insulin and sulfonylureas: May increase the risk of low blood sugar.
Oral medicines: Semaglutide slows stomach emptying and may affect absorption.
Other Semaglutide or GLP-1 medicines: Do not combine unless specifically prescribed.
Storage Conditions
Store Obesema according to the product instructions.
Keep refrigerated at 2°C to 8°C before use unless otherwise specified.
Do not freeze.
Protect from light.
Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
How to Use
Obesema 0.25mg Injection is generally administered once weekly by subcutaneous injection into the abdomen, thigh or upper arm.
The 0.25 mg dose is generally given for the first four weeks before increasing to 0.5 mg, as tolerated and prescribed. This gradual increase helps reduce gastrointestinal side effects.
Do not increase the dose without medical advice.
Safety Advice
Pregnancy
Do not use Semaglutide for weight management during pregnancy. If planning pregnancy, speak with your doctor about stopping treatment at least 2 months beforehand.
Breast Feeding
Semaglutide should not be used while breastfeeding because its safety for the breastfed baby has not been established.

Tell your doctor before surgery or deep sedation because delayed stomach emptying may increase aspiration risk.

Tell your doctor if you have liver disease.

Discuss alcohol consumption with your doctor.

Dizziness or low blood sugar may affect alertness.
