Semanat 4mg Injection may be prescribed for:

• Type 2 diabetes mellitus: Semaglutide may be used along with diet and exercise to help improve blood glucose control.

The dose is selected and adjusted by the doctor based on the individual's condition, response to treatment, and treatment goals. Do not change the dose without medical advice.

Semaglutide works in a similar way to the natural hormone GLP-1. It increases insulin release when blood glucose levels are high and reduces glucagon release, which helps lower blood glucose levels.

It also slows stomach emptying and acts on areas of the brain involved in appetite regulation. These effects can help regulate blood glucose levels and may reduce food intake.

• Insulin and sulfonylureas: Using Semaglutide with insulin or medicines such as sulfonylureas can increase the risk of low blood sugar. Your doctor may adjust the dose of these medicines.

• Medicines taken by mouth: Semaglutide can slow stomach emptying and may affect the absorption of some oral medicines.

• Other diabetes medicines: Tell your doctor about all medicines used to control blood glucose so that your treatment can be monitored safely.

• Other GLP-1 receptor agonists: Do not use Semanat with another Semaglutide-containing medicine or another GLP-1 receptor agonist unless your doctor specifically advises you to do so.

• Do not freeze.

• Protect the vial from heat and light.

• Keep out of reach of children.

• After first use, the vial can be stored for 42 days when kept at a temperature not exceeding 30°C or in a refrigerator at 2°C to 8°C.

Semanat 4mg Injection is given as a subcutaneous injection once weekly, exactly as prescribed by your doctor. It can be injected into areas such as the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm. Rotate the injection site when possible.

The product is supplied as a multiple-dose vial designed to provide four 1 mg doses. Your doctor or healthcare professional should show you how to prepare and administer the injection before your first dose.

Use a new disposable syringe for each injection. Do not share syringes with another person.

• Drink enough fluids, particularly if vomiting or diarrhoea occurs.
