Introduction
Semabrex 4 mg/3 mL Injection contains semaglutide 4 mg in 3 mL. It is supplied as a multi-dose vial for subcutaneous use and is intended to be administered once weekly as directed by the doctor.
Semaglutide is a GLP-1 receptor agonist that helps improve blood glucose control in people with type 2 diabetes mellitus. The Semabrex pack contains one vial along with four disposable syringes and four alcohol swabs.
Uses of Semabrex 4 mg/3 mL
Semabrex may be used for:
Improving blood glucose control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus
Managing type 2 diabetes along with diet and exercise
The doctor decides the appropriate dose and duration of treatment.
How Semabrex 4 mg/3 mL Works
Semabrex contains semaglutide, which mimics the action of GLP-1, a hormone involved in blood glucose regulation.
It stimulates insulin release when blood glucose levels are elevated and reduces glucagon secretion. It also slows gastric emptying and can reduce appetite. These effects help improve blood glucose control.
Interactions of Semabrex 4 mg/3 mL with Other Medicines
Tell your doctor about all medicines you take before starting Semabrex.
Insulin or sulfonylureas: Using semaglutide with these medicines can increase the risk of low blood sugar. Their doses may need adjustment.
Oral medicines: Semaglutide can delay gastric emptying and may affect the absorption of some medicines taken by mouth.
Warfarin or other coumarin medicines: Your doctor may recommend closer monitoring of blood clotting when semaglutide treatment is started.
Other semaglutide-containing medicines or GLP-1 receptor agonists: Do not use them together with Semabrex unless specifically advised by your doctor.

Safety Advice
Pregnancy
Semaglutide should not be used during pregnancy. If you are planning a pregnancy, speak to your doctor. Semaglutide should be stopped at least 2 months before a planned pregnancy.
Breast Feeding
Tell your doctor if you are breastfeeding before using Semabrex. Your doctor will decide whether treatment is appropriate.

Alcohol
Alcohol can affect blood glucose control and may worsen gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea and vomiting. Discuss alcohol consumption with your doctor.

Semaglutide does not usually affect driving ability. However, low blood sugar may affect your ability to drive safely, particularly when Semabrex is used with insulin or a sulfonylurea.
