Introduction
Semalix 2mg Injection contains Semaglutide, a GLP-1 receptor agonist used in the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus and, where prescribed for the approved indication, chronic weight management.
Semalix 2mg Injection contains Semaglutide 2 mg/1.5 mL and is supplied as a prefilled pen designed to deliver 0.25 mg or 0.5 mg doses.
Uses of Semalix 2mg Injection
Semalix 2mg Injection is used to:
Improve blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus: It is used along with diet and exercise.
Support chronic weight management: It may be prescribed for eligible adults with obesity or overweight with at least one weight-related health condition.
How Semalix 2mg Injection Works
Semalix 2mg Injection contains Semaglutide, which mimics GLP-1, a natural hormone involved in blood sugar regulation and appetite.
It increases insulin release when blood sugar levels are high and reduces glucagon release. It also slows stomach emptying and can increase feelings of fullness. These actions help improve blood sugar control and can reduce food intake.
Interaction of Semalix 2mg Injection with Other Medicines
Tell your doctor about all prescription medicines, over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, supplements and herbal products you take.
Insulin or sulfonylureas: These can increase the risk of low blood sugar when used with Semalix.
Oral medicines: Semaglutide may affect the absorption of some oral medicines because it delays stomach emptying.
Warfarin or other coumarin medicines: Closer monitoring may be needed after starting Semaglutide.
Other GLP-1 receptor agonists: Do not use Semalix with another Semaglutide-containing medicine or GLP-1 receptor agonist unless prescribed.

How to Use
Use Semalix 2mg Injection exactly as prescribed by your doctor.
The 2 mg/1.5 mL pen is designed to deliver 0.25 mg or 0.5 mg doses. It is injected under the skin once a week and may be used with or without food.
Inject it into the abdomen, thigh or upper arm and rotate injection sites.
The 0.25 mg dose is generally used at the beginning of Semaglutide treatment. The dose may be increased gradually according to your response and tolerance.
Do not inject Semalix into a vein or muscle and never share the pen.
Safety Advice

Breast Feeding
Semaglutide should not be used while breastfeeding unless specifically advised by your doctor.

Tell your doctor before surgery or a procedure requiring general anaesthesia or deep sedation because delayed stomach emptying may increase the risk of aspiration.

Discuss alcohol consumption with your doctor. Alcohol may worsen gastrointestinal symptoms and affect blood sugar control.
Driving
Low blood sugar can affect concentration and reaction time, particularly when Semalix is combined with insulin or sulfonylureas. Do not drive if you have symptoms of hypoglycaemia.
