GLIPIQ 2mg Pen Injection may be prescribed for:

• Type 2 diabetes mellitus: To improve blood sugar control along with diet and exercise.

• Weight management: Semaglutide injections may be prescribed for weight management in eligible adults with obesity or overweight accompanied by a weight-related health condition, along with a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity.

Your doctor will decide which indication and dose are appropriate for you.

GLIPIQ contains Semaglutide, which mimics GLP-1, a hormone that helps regulate blood sugar and appetite.

It increases insulin release when blood sugar is high and reduces glucagon release. It also slows stomach emptying and can increase feelings of fullness, which may reduce food intake.

Tell your doctor about all medicines you take.

• Insulin or sulfonylureas: These can increase the risk of low blood sugar when used with Semaglutide.

• Other oral medicines: Delayed stomach emptying may affect the absorption of some oral medicines.

• Other Semaglutide medicines: Do not use another Semaglutide-containing medicine at the same time unless your doctor specifically advises you.

• Other GLP-1 receptor agonists: Combining these medicines is generally not recommended unless prescribed by your doctor.

• Store the unopened pen in a refrigerator at 2°C to 8°C.

• Do not freeze.

• Keep the pen away from the freezer compartment and cooling element.

• Protect it from light by keeping it in its original carton.

• Keep out of sight and reach of children.

• Follow the product instructions for storage after first use.

Use GLIPIQ exactly as prescribed.

• GLIPIQ 2mg Pen Injection is administered under the skin once weekly.

• It can be injected into the abdomen, thigh or upper arm.

• It may be used at any time of day, with or without food.

• The 2 mg total content should not be confused with a 2 mg dose. The lower-strength presentation is used for the starting doses prescribed by your doctor.

• Your dose may be increased gradually to reduce stomach-related side effects.

• Use a new needle for each injection.

• Do not share the pen or needles with another person.

• Check the solution before use. Do not use it if it is not clear and colourless or if it contains particles.

Semaglutide injection products are generally started at a low dose and increased gradually.

Common side effects:

• Nausea

• Vomiting

• Diarrhoea

• Constipation

• Abdominal pain

• Decreased appetite

• Indigestion

• Headache

• Dizziness

Serious side effects:

• Pancreatitis

• Severe allergic reaction

• Dehydration and kidney problems

• Gallbladder problems

• Vision changes

• Low blood sugar, particularly with insulin or sulfonylureas

Seek medical attention for severe or persistent abdominal pain, especially if it spreads to the back.

• Use GLIPIQ on the same day every week.

• Do not change the dose or injection day without medical advice.

• Remember that 2 mg refers to the total content of the pen, not necessarily a single injection dose.

• Eat smaller meals if nausea or early fullness occurs.

• Drink enough fluids if vomiting or diarrhoea develops.

• Tell your doctor if you have a history of pancreatitis, gallbladder disease, diabetic retinopathy or severe gastrointestinal problems.

• Tell your healthcare team about GLIPIQ before surgery or deep sedation.

• Never share your pen or needles.
